Support for toolbars has to be coded individually into the program. If enough people request this it may be added.

I would like to see that particular toolbar in Avant as well.

I have a question, though. Why do people have to request it? I mean, I'm positive there are people that use Avant and don't lurk the forums at all. In that context, the Dogpile thing is very popular (over 300k downloads), and I would say it deserves to find it's way into Avant even if not said.

Mainly because Avant is developed and maintained by one person, Anderson Che. While these forums aren't used as a bible as to what's going to go in next and what's not, it is a place for him to see what his users would really like added. Also, the other goal is to prevent Avant from becoming so bloated that it no longer becomes useful. Not trying to stick every toolbar known to man is an example of trying to maintain this. Being able to gear things toward your audience is an advantage and a way to have a more focused product.

Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

You have a point, obviously, but all I want is a decent newsfeed plugin, or such. :)

Does the Dogpile toolbar have a newsfeed plugin?

Yes, it does.

Although, it would probably be nicer if Mr. Anderson Che would make a newsfeed reader himself, when he has the time. That would eliminate the need for external toolbars (as far as rss is concerned) and releive the bloatness of the application.

Btw, maybe there is another toolbar that supports reading newfeeds that is already supported? :?: I don't really care what's the thing's name, as long as it does what's it supposed to, if you know what I mean.

I would suggest adding support for the Dogpile toolbar (http://www.dogpile.com) as it allows RSS feeds on the toolbar as well as multiple search engines.

I am crossing my fingers the Yahoo compatibility issue will be resolved sometime soon! :D

It's been awhile since anyone has requested this but I too would like the Dogpile toolbar to be added.
