Firefox and HTML5 + WebM Open Video Standard

I know all of this was only just announced yesterday at Google I/O, but with pretty much every single browser (incl MS IE) hopping on this bandwagon, I was curious what Orca Devs might do in response. I don't know how this extra support is wired into Firefox if it's an engine thing or a plugin thing, so I can't comment on that. But it would be nice to know that you guys will keep up on the standards wavefront, or at least a couple steps right behind it.

I don't know enough about it's actual implementation in Firefox but let's not count our chickens before they hatch. There is already a patent pool being talked about for WebM. This POTENTIALLY could put it in the same boat as h.264. Google is sticking it's head out on this one, for good reasons mind you, to try and get a high quality, open source, and unencumbered video encoding/decoding format for everyone to use.

Yeah I had since heard about the disputes over the tech, but not until after I posted this lol. I didn't mean to imply it was a bandwagon you had to jump onto, just what the development's thoughts and potential plans for this and new standards. You know, like what your general adoption policy is. But I guess that's kind of hard to describe, depends on so much. So, nevermind and keep up the good work
