If I die I have to go before Crom and he will ask me:
"What is the rule of Steel?"
And if I don't know it, he will cast me out of Valhalla and laugh at me!
That's Crom, strong on his mountain..

I moved this in the beta section, 'cause Anderson wrote to translators tonight and said, amongst other things:
After working hard for a few days, Avant Browser support UNICODE now. I just released a new beta version:

Please try out this new version. I would appreciate if you could let me know this version works perfect in your system or not. Please also check out the translations I applied.

Favorites are not saving, though: I had old favorites with unicode names and they started displaying correctly, but it looks like you cannot save favorites with Unicode names: try for example to save as a favorite the original, arabic-language Al-Jazeera home page (couldn't think of anything else to test...) http://www.aljazeera.net.
Also, if you rename a favorite to contain Unicode characters (I often use the blank character displayed by pressing Alt+255 on the numeric keypad, which is NOT a space, though it appears the same, to insert separators in the favorite list) the standard IE icon is used for that favorite, regardless of what's in the .url file, just try to rename a favorite with anything in its name NOT from the standard letters and numbers, ASCII 32 to 128.

Well, other Unicode pages save correctly, so it's probably an issue with just the Aljazeera site.robc wrote:but it looks like you cannot save favorites with Unicode names: try for example to save as a favorite the original, arabic-language Al-Jazeera home page (couldn't think of anything else to test...) http://www.aljazeera.net
