Toyota's President"s overshot Washington DC by 150 miles today, winding up in Va. He crashed into a blacksmiths shop.
Said he was having trouble with the brakes on his toyota. view http://www.huffingtonpost.com/andy-boro ... 72938.html

Re: Brake Problems
Nope... and actually, thinking about it, I don't think I've ever driven a Toyota, which is a bit odd if you think about it.
You do realize though, that every "truth" comment so far in this thread had nothing to do with your post, right. (That includes mine.

Re: Brake Problems
Perhaps gliches in thier electronics . l have read that there is no longer a cable from the accelerator to the throttle in a lot of new car makes.
Electronics control the throttle.

Re: Brake Problems
Almost everything in cars made in the last couple of years is completely electronic. Everything from the steering wheel, to the brakes and accelerator pedal no longer are directly connected to their respective parts. This is know as drive by wire. Toyota has had to recall millions of vehicles for the accelerator pedal "sticking" so the car will continue to accelerate.
You can read more about it and the cars affected by going to Toyota's Site.

Re: Brake Problems
Yes, lot of useful information on thier site. Of course bogus complaints also should be factored in.
However, one complaint was interesting, This person stated that his accelerator stuck, he stated he shut the key off, coasted to a stop.
Restarted the car, the accelerator was not stuck.
