IE 7 install failure.

Post by Sergei » Wed Jan 03, 2007 10:11 pm

A friend of mine has an odd problem. I thought I'd see if anyone here had an idea.

"Whenever I open IE7, it crashes after a few seconds with an error message saying something about how I have to enable Just-In-Time debugging in Visual Studio."

Needless to say, he doesn't have Visual Studio. He's tried reinstalling IE7.

The problems I've encountered with both IE6 and IE7 ranged from the sublime to the ridiculous to the legendary. Everything from "freezes" to "crashes" plagued my otherwise innocent browsing business. It's as if Internet Explorer determines upon its install which pc to love and which to hate (granting each endless light or endless night, respectively). In short, it needs to be in-sync with the computer it's installed on (seemingly).
I've used Firefox, AOL OpenRide and now Avant (by FAR the VERY BEST) and had no trouble with them...certainly nothing similar to the trouble I had with IEs 6/7. Your friend should consider another browser, other than IE, and save himself a lot of grief...(Is it really worth it?). Good luck!

Yes, I'm aware that Avant uses the IE search engine...the way Windows comprises a computer's very framework. Microsoft has given birth to some farsighted offspring...Microsoft, however, has grown quite nearsighted with age. :!:

Okay, I meant "rendering engine"...my mistake. I doubt if the folks at Microsoft are bothered by any of this: they have their profits to keep them warm.
