which kind of screen do you have?

and no, i don't mean the on you have at work , at school or the one your pet has :D (unless this is the only one you use) .

some people prefer the old CRT screens, and some got used to the LCD.

some might even spend some more money in the future for the OLED screens which suppose to be better then LCD in about everything.

so , which one do you have?

I have the nylon ones, but I prefer the older metal type. Oh, wait, you aren't talking about the screens in my windows. You mean the screen I have when viewing Windows. Both. Don't care either way though.

I have a CRT monitor for a Desktop.
I have a LCD monitor for a Desktop.
I have a LCD for a Laptop.

IMO
The LCDs are nice if you have less space.
The CRTs are nice if you have more space.

The LCDs are nice if you have more money.
The CRTs are nice if you have less money.

The LCDs are nice if you have style in mind.
The CRTs are nice if you have display size per dollar in mind.

So, it's really a personal choice between cost and looks.

Is that a personal preference to use CRT's, Nat... or are those hand me downs etc.

I've been shopping for a new monitor and I can't decide if I should go LCD or not. I'm leaning toward LCD, maybe a 19 inch... does anybody have any recommendations?

Dell, Samsung and Viewsonic make nice monitors. If you get one of them you will probably be happy. Just make sure you get one with a responce time of less than 12ms if you play games. If not, it doesn't really matter all that much.

I prefer LCD, but the CRT on the Dell I had just for the price, and the CRT on the Server was also for price.

And, yes the server has a monitor.. It didn't used to be a server, and I use the GUI every once and a while as well. It's also open as an internet terminal for anyone who wants to use it (in my house).
