Atomfilms still not playing - version 11.46

Post by ramseyle » Sat Apr 28, 2007 12:30 pm

Am I the only one to have this problem?
IE 6 will play the site just fine (don't have 7 installed).

Give us a few example web sites pages or URL's so others can see what our results are.

What kind of file format is / are AtomFilms? Flash? WMV? QuickTime? Real?

What's your basic system have? XP Which SP (Service Pack) level?

What basic audio or video Codecs might you have installed (this is a little technical, though) ??

In short, the more information you can provide, the better we can all assist each other.

films are all done in Flash I believe.
The "ads" will play, but the movies will not.
They used to play fine.

XPSP2 fully patched
I will look at my codecs and compile a list

OK, if the AtomFilms are in Flash format, the Codec's are not REALLY vital to know about.

For the most part, Flash is Flash, and if the ad's play, and they are Flash-based, then it seems that the "real important" Flash content, such as AtomFilms, should also play.

Could be that Avant may need to "see" Flash updated or de-installed then re-installed to make things click. This happens very now and then.

Although I too remember a rare instance or two where I have seen AtomFilms not play in the past, I did locate a few of them just now, and they seem to play fine -- both the actual AtomFilms AND the ad's too(!)

I would note that every so often, the main Atom web server that serves up or feeds us AtomFilms MAY have a faulty issue or two, but they usually correct those issues pretty fast.

Does anything change if you accept all of the cookies? There could be a cookie letting the site know that the ad is over. Not accepting it might not trigger the loading of the film. We've run into a few cases where this has mucked up Avant and not IE even thought they both use the same settings.

You can go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Privacy -> Sites to remove the ones you've accepted if it doesn't work.

I'd also go make sure you have the latest version of Sun Java. You can check here.
