OK, I did that and my Google Toolbar disappeared. I rechecked and it's back.

Check your context menu after you turn it off in Add-ons (<-Add-ons, not View)

Google disappeared from context menu too.

Sara :)

However it didn't come back when I rechecked it. The toolbar did come back. :?

Your entire context menu should be different. Not drastically different, but not IE's. After un-checking it, is "Add to Favorites" there?

edit: And what's the last item on your context menu when Google is unchecked?

Grumble..... I just got the Google bar back where I want it.

The last Item is still Properties.

Anything else before I put Google back?

Well, it seems that you're the only one that has no access to Avant's context menu. That is so weird. Here's mine...

Picture file

edit: So, do you have any of Avant's normal context menu entries? Like Open all links on this page, Add to AD blocker, etc.?

If Google toolbar is activated I havent Avant's Context menu too, IE's context menu appear instead of it.
If I deactivate Google Toolbar, Avant's context menu come back.

Those are the only two I'm missing, but I don't use Avant's ad-blocker and I have a vague memory of opting out of both those choices a long time ago. I would never want to be bothered opening all the links on a page--I prefer more control than that. I do have Open All Links in this Folder in the appropriate places.

Remember I use IE Favorites--could that be a factor?

Oh, as to an earlier question "Add to Favorites" was still there.

Here it isn't. What about Add to Favorites? Is it there?

Again this is the way my Context Menu looks like:
scubamaster wrote:I finally found the culprit for my Avant Context Options not showing up when I right-click. I deleted my conf.dat file and started enabling one option after the other. As soon as I selected the Google Toolbar and enabled it under "View" my Avant Context Options (right-click) are gone. Removing Google Toolbar from the Add-on's does restore it.

Avant Right-Click Context Options active (Google Toolbar off):

Avant Right-Click Context Options inactive (Google Toolbar on):

Anderson Please fix, I need the Google Toolbar (and the Avant Context Options)

Well, I'm only missing two items that I wouldn't use anyway and I have everything else, so I'm not giving up Google for Avant's Yahoo.
So for me this isn't a problem.

BTW, I use avant.exe so it's not that either.

Sara

Oh, Google search has reappeared in my context menu as well.

It reappeared because Google Toolbar is activated again, right?

And finally, out of curiosity, unchecking any of the IE context menu options in Add-ons doesn't do anything for you does it? I notice that in your Options screenshot, Translate with Google is unchecked, but in your Context Menu screenshot, it's there. It seems to me that you can uncheck every IE Context Menu entry then, right?

The only context items I've checked are the ones related to IESpell and AdMuncher. I checked the Search AB forum" item this time as well as I was missing it in my menu. Why would that item appear in the IE contect menu? Perhaps I have a combination of the two? My add-on list in total is aboutt 3 frames worth.

BTW, I noticed an unchecked "Customize Menu" in the Contect menu section while I was figuring that out. And no, I won't check it to see what happens--I don't want to be stuck with it!

My point, though, is that you don't have to check anything at all because you're not using Avant's context menu... which is what those checkboxes are for. Notice that even though you only have those two program's selections checked, you still have Google's entries in your context menu along with all of the other extra "Lookup..." entries. Those are there because of Avant.

Also, that Customize Menu is different than the one I think you're talking about... the one that everyone want removed. Avant's is simply Customize... and takes you to Avant's Add-ons. And according to your screenshot on the prior page of this thread, "Customize Menu" is in your context menu list.
