How to convert bookmarklets to Add-ons?

Post by mbrazil » Sun Oct 04, 2009 5:35 pm

I've had trouble with several bookmarklets I've tried to use with Avant. In searching the forums, I've seen references to converting bookmarklets to Avant Add-ons, but I haven't been able to find any information on how to do this. How do you convert a bookmarklet to an Add-on?

Try creating a new script button and pasting the code there:
- Tools >> Avant Browser Options... >> Add-ons >> Add-ons (Tab) >> Add (button)
If you provide an example, someone may convert it and you can see what is done

Thanks kudos! I'll give that a try. Here's an example of a bookmarklet I tried that doesn't work for me:

javascript:void(window.open('http://tineye.com/search?pluginver=book ... ument.URL)));

You can use the following code. Just make sure to add "http://tineye.com*" (without quotes) to the popup blocker white list.

Code: Select all

url = encodeURIComponent(location.href);
window.open('http://tineye.com/search?pluginver=bookmark_1.0&url='+url);
