autofill information compressed & unreadable

Post by sam8988378 » Fri Jul 03, 2009 7:43 pm

I had previously been using Avant v.11 build 23, and just updated in the hopes that this situation would change, but it hasn't. There are some websites which will not accept autofill, and I have to go to autofill, click "edit" and view the password to manually enter. I've just noticed that the information is not displayed. Instead it seems as if the information starts almost on the far right side of the box, and is cut off by the frame of the box, right through the vertical row of squares with "x"s. The left side of the edit autofills box is mostly blank, aside from 1 or 2 long entries. Why is this happening? Is all the information gone for good? Is this going to continue to happen to any Autofill information I save?

What are the language / regional settings of your Windows installation?

I can confirm. I've run into this problem, too. It's not a language setting issue, but rather the name of a field in the form being given an unusually long name.

Making the AutoFill dialog resizable would make solve the problem as would allowing it to scroll.

If possible, maybe you could let us know the name of the site from where your AutoFill is saved so that others can see it, too. I just did a quick search through mine and couldn't find one.

Yes, hornakapopolis is correct - and unfortunately it's a window that most resizers cannot change - but I have found a "hack" to change the window size using Scott's Window Resizing Utility

- Open the autofill edit dialog
- Start SWRU
- Place a check in "Visible Only"
- Select "View/Edit Autofills"
- Place a check in "Min" then remove it

The autofill dialog should now be much wider.
I hope that it works for you - until Anderson updates the dialog window...

Unfortunately, I've quite a few:
https://home.mcafee.com/Secure/Protected/Login.aspx
https://aa.rewardsnetwork.com/accountse ... tid=305915
https://www.stouffers.com/User/Registra ... px?Site=DC

And there is another attachment, dysfunctional in its own way, but the same problem. Is the Autofill information gone for good? Most isn't important except for the McAfee. I've dealt with their tech help when the Security Center malfunctions (which is often) #-o & I doubt they would be more helpful when it comes to missing passwords.

Thank you! :) I've downloaded Scott's Window Resizing Utility, and will sneak away to try it tomorrow.

Thanks for providing links - now that I have those I have to say that my previous advice does not work, sorry.

Instead, here is another solution:

- Install WinDowse (small - approx 550kb)
- Run WinDowse and select the "Children" tab
- In Avant bring up the "View/Edit Autofills" dialog
- The details will show in WinDowse when the mouse is over the dialog

 =D> Yes! The WinDowse utility works! The Scotts Window resizing utility didn't. It just gave me larger areas of the part of the window which had no information. McAfee has once again changed its Total Protection #-o , so now I get messages every half hour or so telling me that "McAfee cannot connect to the internet to update". Odd, isn't it, that every other program has no problem? Looks like yet another reinstall. Grrr...if it wasn't free... (someone needed 2 licenses and bought the 3 pack subscription). Thank you!
