browser:home opens here. I get a page with a search box up top and 3 columns with my browsing history, most viewed pages and recently bookmarked pages.

Apparently someone felt a need to give Avant a Home Page that looks like Opera and Chrome--I haven't looked at those lately--never at Chrome, but I hardly think they are so bare boned. I like news and weather and a user interface on my home page, which is why I kept my MSN home page long after dropping their service.

I do not understand this at all.
Of all the bugs/changes that have been requested for so long and by so many people, Anderson has presumably put time and effort into providing this "home page" thing (that for me doesn't even work!).
Surely most if not all users have already set up their own homepage.
I have now become totally disillusioned/frustrated/annoyed by what's happening with Avant. Version 12 may change things but I'm not holding my breath.
I will now admit that my main browser is Maxthon Classic. I still try Avant when new releases come out to see if things have improved; I'm still waiting! :( :(

Oh come on abman, bugs get fixed in each and every build.

Like I said in the AB Discussion topic, this is more of a new tab page to use the blank space that is usually there. Even though its set by default to be a homepage. I think if Anderson hadn't made it the homepage or what comes up when you open a new tab, no one would have known it was there. Except for the people who visit the board.

Obviously there are problems because I've heard of several people who have installed build 28 and tried to open browser:home and it be totally blank. This is just a bug like anything new is expected to have. I didn't have this problem but apparently my brother did.

My opinion is that this was a cool idea if only it was confined to the new tab page and not tried to take over the homepage. But if Im not mistaken wasn't the old homepage Avantfind or Yahoo or something by default when you first installed Avant, I can't remember. In that regard I think this is a better replacement for that. You have to change your homepage to whatever you want anyway when you first install Avant. But I agree that if your just upgrading from build to build that it shouldn't hijack your set page.

I bet everyone can tell Im trying to defend this new page, because I don't want to help discourage Anderson from trying to add new things to Avant whether they were requested or not. But yes Sara, their homepages are that bareboned they only show the most recent items(history, bookmarks, etc). Opera only shows you a form of bookmarks that it calls the Dial.

Sorry for the bug. Could anybody got the empty/blank browser:home get the source codes of the page, OR let me know the source codes is empty.

To get the source codes: Click View-Source.

And I will release another build, that will not replace users' home page soon.

Thanks.

Kindly count me in. release by release avant is going down. believe me avanth is moving from favorable browser to most problamatic browser.

i too have the browser:home bug. noting happens.

anderson please have a look at "what do u want in 12" thread & please please give us back good old stable fantastic 10.x version.

P.S:
Till now "open in background" option wasnt reflecting on new tab (CTRL + N or CTRL + T) option. why was this option added to new tab in 11.7.28 version.
If i press ctrl + n, it means i need new tab & i want it upfront. please dont mix this open links in background.

hope you understand my intension & my problem

regards
Gururaja

EDIT : i am using usb version

What I don't get is why does the brower:home display 'Most Visited' site's that arent really most visited. A quick glance at the url dropdown bar will show the most visited sites. The one in browser:home seems to only display more recently visited sites that I may seen once or twice. I want a column that actually fits the description properly, thanks.
