New Window, foreground vs. background

Post by JoeVB » Thu Oct 09, 2008 12:37 am

In a previous version, not too long ago, when I would open a new window by clicking on a link, that window would open in the background. Also, when I would open a new window by moving my mouse up (using mouse movements) that new window would open in the foreground.

With build 15 of version 11.7 it doens't seem to work that way. I liked the way it worked and can't seem to figure out what settings I need to change to get that to work.

Does anyone have an idea how to do this?

If I go to Avant Options | New Window and set that to 'Background' that works great for the links I click on a page but a new window from my mouse gesture also opens in the background.

Under Mouse Gestures there is an option to have the new window appear in the background but not the foreground.

Thanks.

How are you clicking the link to open a new tab?

That was a bug fix and you can't change it.
Thanks Anderson for checking out my AB 11.0 feature request list,
now it's time to go on with 11.8:

So, it's a link that is coded in the page to open in a new window, right? Can you post a link to a page with one of these links?

Also, in your first post, when you said you were moving your mouse up using mouse movements, did you mean you were left clicking the link and dragging the link to open it or were you right-clicking and using mouse gestures?

I ask because I middle click links to get them to open in a new tab. These new tabs open in the background. When I open a new tab by either using Ctrl-N or the "New Tab" mouse gesture, this new tab opens in the foreground.
