Flash installation
Just installed latest Orca on XP Home SP3 and Flash download manager launched, but no flash install occured (installer did run and are present, but orca isn't using 'em). Subsequently visiting the Flash install page results in no download occuring, preventing trying again.

Re: Flash movies context menu
I've seen it happen on some systems - it affects Firefox too. The solution is to copy a file. Close Orca then type/copy/paste the following into a Windows Command Prompt window:
Include the quotes. Adjust the path of Orca/Firefox as necessary.
Code: Select all
copy "%windir%\System32\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32.dll" "%ProgramFiles%\Orca Browser\plugins\"

Re: Flash movies context menu
You're welcome - easy when you know how. I use that tip with Orca/Firefox portable versions.

Re: Flash movies context menu
hehe
As an aside, it seems the Adobe DM hadn't installed it first time, so I had to re-download the Gecko installer in IE, then obviously run and install that, before the command line would work (file wasn't present apparently).
Sooner Adobe stop using the DM, the better (McAfee's is just as unreliable, which is one of the many reasons I never recommend them).

Indeed - we are on the same wavelength there.
See this post for direct links to the current Flash installers.

Re: Flash installation
Dreamer, make sure that Orca is closed before you try to copy/overwrite the file.Dreamer wrote:I couldn't install it in Orca, I tried to find a download link, but it was the same - once it has been installed, I have restarted Orca, but it didn't work.
Perhaps I should post in another topic, when I find this link:
http://forum.avantbrowser.com/viewtopic.php?t=28460
If you right-click NPSWF32.dll to get its properties you should have:
NPSWF32.dll - 5.969,360 bytes - Version 10.1.82.76
In Orca - to find out exactly which Flash file it is using:
- Go to about:config
- Find or create boolean key: plugin.expose_full_path
- Se it to true
- Go to about:plugins
- The entry for Shockwave Flash should display the file path and version number
