Post script to the above. If the only thing open at the close is this forum, the message does not appear.

Can you run a HiJackThis scan on your computer and post the results log here.

I assume that you are VERY paranoid about PC security.
You have much running - does it slow your system down?

Can you temporarily disable the following:
- Lavasoft AdAware
- Avast Antivirus/Mail Scanner/Web Scanner
- Comodo Firewall Pro
- Avira AntiVir Desktop
- PivX Solutions PreEmpt
- Secuna PSI
- Spybot Search & Destroy
- Nero BackItUp/IndexingService
- Uniblue Registry Booster
- RamBooster

Can you provide a list of sites that cause the problem so that I may check what they have in common.

https://mail.google.com/mail/?shva=1#inbox

This is my home page. When I close this before opening anything else (a few experiments) the problem does not seem to occur. My normal practice however has been to simply overwrite it, but not close it, when I want to look at something else. So the problem seems to occur most of the time.
I'll do this as a matter of course (i.e. close it before proceeding) for a while and see if that seems to solve it, leaving you with the question, why this site?

Postscript to above. If I close my home page before opening anything else, I do not get the error warning. However if I close it after, I still get the warning.

I thought that the problem was with closing Orca completely, not just a single page. Please clarify - I'm getting a bit confused.

The general problem is a warning message after closing Orca. The situations I was trying to describe is under what circumstances this happens.

My usual practice has been to go to various sites, overwriting my home page. After closing Orca, the warning appears.

However, I have been experimenting with closing my home page tab (but not closing Orca) before looking at other sites. Under this procedure I do not get the warning message when I close Orca.

It looks to me there is a timing problem when Orca closes while tabs are still open. If I close all tabs first the warning does not appear. If I leave tabs open and close Orca the warning appears most of the time.

It seems to have stopped. Has there been any recent Orca update to account for it?

There has been no Orca update since December - and updates are not applied automatically, you have to initiate it manually. My guess is that either some software on your system, or an extension/plugin that you have, updated itself automatically.

It seems I spoke too soon. What seems to be going on is that it is erratic. I still haven't been able to figure out the pattern, but I am guessing it is some sort of timing problem.

Eureka!!!!!!!
I don't know what the connection is, but the change I just made (to correct a problem with lines being skipped when I paged down using the scroll bar on some pages) appears to have corrected this problem also. Since I made the just mentioned correction, Orca has always closed properly.

Thanks for confirming. The "change" you made was to reset Orca to its default state which included removing Mozilla addons and extensions, of which I suspect one was causing your problems. Please be careful when installing any more as not all are compatible with Orca.

Your comment has me confused. I don't believe I made any addons or extensions to Orca's list of Mozilla addons. The Extension list has always been empty, while the plugin list is unchanged. I have added on to my version of Firefox, but you have indicated that this is not used by Orca.
