Virustotal.com - Avant Browser with Adware??

Post by lefreak » Fri Oct 02, 2015 7:31 pm

Virustotal.com finds in 2 engines the following adware inside the installer of AB Ultimate Build 28:
AdWare/BrowseFox.oj

"Adware.browsefox is a price comparison tool which is independent from the websites on which those deals are presented. In order to display relevant offers, the application connects to it servers and records various information related to your browsing, which includes the URLs that you visit, your IP address, information provided by the browsers, your search queries, and some other details. This is stated to be necessary to enhance the application and the service, which means that by monitoring your browsing sessions the developers of the program seek to generate advertisements that are closely related to what you are interested in on the Internet."

The other engine says:
Downloader.SilentInstall.Win32.51

I hope that you don't begin to add those sh** in your great software, like others did (CDex, which was great, etc.)!

It's from Virustotal.com, you just upload the absetup and the scan result is this: https://www.virustotal.com/file/78f9da9 ... /analysis/

I just tested again. I downloaded the Ultimate version and the lite version from the official site.

Result ultimate version: https://www.virustotal.com/nl/file/78f9 ... /analysis/

Result lite version: https://www.virustotal.com/nl/file/3381 ... /analysis/

So only the ultimate version shows it.

That should be false positives.
In the report,Jiangmin virusscanner detect the adware. I installed Jiangmin antivirus software and used it to scan the ultimate version, but no adware is found.

1 out of 55 is nothing. I have here progs with 12/55 and there is no problem with it. I stick with the top AV's like Avira, bitdefender, Bullguard, F-secure, G data , kaspersky, Emisoft and when they not report any problem then it is 99,999999% oke.
