Qclean Firefox Addon Issue

Post by eric859 » Mon Aug 12, 2013 4:47 pm

I recently started using Qclean to help get rid of Facebook ads. It works! The problem is that it will only work until I close that particular Avant session. When I restart Avant, I need to go in Firefox Addons and disable, then re-enable the addon for it to start working again.

Any ideas?

I tested QClean in Avant with the Firefox engine and I'm experiencing the same symptoms you described. I also tested it on Firefox 23, and it works fine there.

There are other add-ons for Firefox that can block ads on Facebook. I haven't tried all of these, but here's a list of the ones I'm aware of: AdBye – For Facebook, Ad blocker, Ad Killer, remove all Facebook ads, and Updated Ad Blocker for Firefox 11+. If you're familiar with using Greasemonkey scripts and have the Greasemonkey extension installed, there is also a Greasemonkey script called Facebook: Cleaner that you can use. Greasemonkey itself is available here.

For the Chrome engine, try Facebook Adblock, commercial ads blocker for Facebook, AdBlock, or Adblock Plus.

Adblock Plus is also available for IE.

All of the links I've provided for Firefox add-ons are to Mozilla's Add-Ons page, and the link to the Facebook: Cleaner Greasemonkey script goes to the userscripts.org website, so you shouldn't have to worry about downloading any malware. The same is true for the Chrome add-ons, since all of those links are to the Chrome Web Store, and the link for Adblock Plus for IE is to the Adblock Plus website.

Please try 2013 build 112 and see whether it has been fixed.
