Check the setting for Email Client in Tools > Avant Browser Options > Email Client. Make sure the path to your email program is correct. If it isn't, click Browse to navigate to your email client, select it, click Open, and then click OK. That should eliminate the error message, as long as your email client supports MAPI (Messaging Application Programming Interface). If your email client doesn't support MAPI, you'll have to install one that does, if you want to be able to send email from an email link on a web page in Avant. This doesn't mean that you have to switch to a different mail client -- you just have to have one that supports MAPI installed and specified in Avant to be able to send mail from a link on a web page. You can continue to use whatever you're using now for all other email activity.
