Control-Click behavior

Post by AEN007 » Sun Jun 24, 2012 2:05 pm

24June2012

Control clicks will (always) open links in new tabs.
As far as I know there is no complimentary "click-option"
that will always open links in the same tab.
(Yes, I know there are extensions that give such contextmenu options ...)
This weekend I configured my MFF/Gecko "installs"
to always open links in the same tab.
I rarely use IE6 in my AvB & do not use/install the AvB WebKit at all.

So I can "click" to open in the same tab and
can control-click to open in a new tab.
On my XP laptops that is an ergonomic solution as well;
however, control-click in AvB is NOT opening the new tabs in the foreground.
Yes, I have the AvB option "Foreground" set for "Always create new tab in the:" ...

Control-Click does open new tabs in the foreground in my MFF "portable" install,
so I am wondering if this issue is an AvB bug or
if there is some MFF/Gecko config setting to change in my AvB "installs"?

I have no idea what the source of that image/quote is ...; and
that C-C behavior is contrary to "generally accepted" standard behavior; and
AvB should consider how to let users configure AvB to follow "generally accepted" standard behavior ...

You wouldn't by any chance know what book or web page covers generally accepted standard behavior would you? I need to grab a copy of that..... :P

No wonder AvB will not likely ever be adopted by the mainstream ...

I'm curious why you even bother with Avant when you seem to hate it so much.

Look dude since you clearly know much more that we do why don't u do some codeing and fix avant for us all so that C-C behavior is "generally accepted" standard behavior.

Good suggestion, AXEMAN. I'm sure Anderson would appreciate a volunteer to help with handling all the requests.

Ya know, that's an excellent suggestion, but somehow I think it's going to fall on deaf..oops...hearing impaired ears. (Got to stay "generally accepted" don't ya know.....
