Ybrowser.exe takes more than 50% of CPU

Post by inforum » Mon Sep 12, 2011 2:20 pm

I am more and more enoyed by this problem ...
And it also completely freezes the browser and slows down the computer to an unacceptable speed ...

If this problem is not resolved I will not implement Avant-Browser on all the computers of my ompany ...

I assume it only has something to do with certain sites. Some sites cause memory leak and high cpu usage. You'd better try opening the same site in different browsers to see whehter it's due to the site itself.

@Cherry : you are right ... it only happens with some sites ... but a web browser has to display the content of a website ... If I remember well it is the first and only aim of a webbrowser ... :o))

If each browser causes high cpu usage for the same site, IMHO the developers of the sites should think over to optimise the sites too.

Well ... it is not the case ... I tested it with Firefox, IE8, Chrome, Opera and everything workd perfectly ! Only Avant-Browser is causing the problem !

You can see the apparent difference for every site? If it's for some specific sites, could you give an example?

Please provide the following information before reporting problems:
Avant Version; System(also point out it is a 32 or 64-bit OS);IE; Memory Size; CPU Speed;
Optional: Firewall; Graphics Card

For the problems hard to replay, could you add me into your MSN or Skype list if you use either of them? The advantage is that you can let us know the situation in the first place by making some screenshots, sharing your screen or explaining the specific problems more clearly when they happen.

Hi Yasmina,

I was checking the website avira.com with avant-browser and the tab caused one of the ybrowser.exe to be blocked at 50% CPU and block my XP OS ...
I had to kill the avant-browser processes and I tried immediately with the other browsers (opera, firefox, IE8, Chrome) ...
  • Chrome 13.0.782.220 m : quick jump during 3 seconds to an amount of 17% CPU

    Opera 11.51 : quick jump during 1 second to an amount of 11% CPU
    Firefox 5.0 : quick jump during 1 second to an amount of 24% CPU
