Ulti 175 AB Dowload manager : Download are sometimes broken

Hi , i use ab utimate build 175 ( and this problem happen with all render engine).


When the Avant Browser download manager is running , sometimes download don't start or the file is broken at the end.
The problem never happen when i disable the avant downloader.

I have sometimes the error server 403 sometimes when i want to download a video with avant browser ( exemple this one : http://www.ouest-france.fr/actu/actuDet ... 8_actu.Htm)

And the error download happen often when i want to download windows live messenger too ( the file is downloading but corrupted at the end).
Otherly download a file work the most of the time , but there is sometimes this error.


The problem was on the build utlimate 174 too , but i'm not sur about the 173...

But that i'm sure ,the problem never appears on the utlimate 170 for exemple , that a new problem with the avant download manager...

Hi all,

yes, I encounter this problem too. When I download with AB DL Manager, very often zip files open as "unable to open, broken zip file"
When I download with IE or any other browser, all files are fine.

I'm using too windows seven 64 bits and i use the utlimate 175.

The picture of the corrupted file ( the files look ok because we can see the icon , but it crash when i open the downloaded file) and it's crash too when i try to open the file directly in the folder and not only on the download manager:

When you click a download button, the "prepareing to download" window pops up for a few seconds and then disappears without poping up the "task" window and no file is downloading in the task manager?

No , the download box don't appears at all sometimes , not a fast appears and disapears.
There is nothing is the foreground or in the backround at this moment for the download manager , and the process adownloader.exe is not loaded of courses.

Yes the avant doownloader never appears everytimes and everyday with this link , the avant downloader never appears ( i have try a lot of day).

[I tried with EPSON driver files and I can try to save one corrupt file and one that is ok (downloaded with another browser). Would it help you if I upload such files?]

I see you use chrome rendering mode. If switching to firefox rendering mode, can clicking the same download link (téléchargez button) on this page http://www.microsoft.com/france/messenger/ bring up the download window?

It could be helpful if you offer the link on which you got the corrupted file after downloading.

It's weird. Is it the same on other download links?
Did you upgrade avant browser everytime by recovering the old folder? For preventing the adownloader.exe from getting corrupted, could you reinstall avant browser to such folder as d:\avant browser 2012build176, then go to windows start menu, copy and paste %appdata% into the box and press [enter], rename Avant Downloader and restart Avant Browser. See what happens on clicking the problem link?

ok , i have completly remove AB , and i have clean registery with Ccleaner.


So now , the download of windows live messenger start ( dialog box appears).
The problem was : The Adblock plus plugin block the download of windows live messenger , so now i know the reason of the problem.


I have rename the folder of avant download to adownloader , but the problem of corrupted files still exist....

You must to push the "lire" button to start the video and have the possibility to dowload the video.

The download link is create after i click on "download video", the download link appears to be :

So the problem may result from the site.[/quote]= No it is not the site it is avant browser don't kid your self .You must get control of the browser it is slipping away everyone knows and has said so the codeing is very poor this once was a good browser it is almost unuseable. Anderson has to rewrite the code for the entire browser and must be very carefull and slow or there will be no avant if no one uses it study the web kit.

A lot of these video servers have little "tricks" to prevent people from downloading. Some give a one-time use URL that expires after X amount of time, some have some kind of DRM permissions that won't allow downloaders to catch it or disables/munges the video's cache. Whenever I come across one of these I have to use a program like WebVideoCap to catch the stream as it's happening.

The broken download file problem do exist. It ever happened to me once(just once). Normally,you can get the correct file if you redownload it.
To Avant, I think it's hard to find a specific link that you can reproduce the problem. It may happen on any link.
