How does AB use .aba files

Post by ABman » Sun Feb 25, 2007 3:22 pm

I've just started using add-ons (prompted by a recent post, thanks) and I would like to know how AB uses the .aba file.

I downloaded a .aba file into folder /Downloads and used Tools/Avant Browser Options/Add-ons to Import and Apply the add-on. I then closed AB and moved the .aba file to folder /Avant Misc. After restarting AB the add-on still worked so I'm wondering where AB keeps add-ons. I did a search but couldn't find any more .aba files. tia

Anderson would probably be the only who could give you a definite answer.

I've always assumed that the info's stored in one of the files. I'm guessing that viewing the size of all of them and then adding an Add-on would point us to which one.

That's a good idea, thanks. It's all working anyway, I'm just curious as to where they're held.

I believe the data for add-on buttons is stored in the 2nd conf.dat in the conf folder within your profile...
