[Button] Enable Right Click

Post by bigC » Sat Aug 25, 2007 8:09 pm

Use this addon to enable accessing the right click menu on web sites that disallow right-clicks.

I believe someone uploaded a script for this on the old site. This one is based on a script from http://subsimple.com/bookmarklets/

...or download below,
EnableRclick.aba
(1.5 KiB) Downloaded 1659 times
Note: This can also work as an auto-executable script. If you'd prefer that... Highlight the addon under Tools > Avant Browser Options > Add-ons > Add-ons, select Edit and next to type select Auto-Execute.

But that defeats the purpose of webmaster in disabling the right click function. Couldn't people become involved in copyright infringement lawsuits? Or is this "Enable Right Click" button limited. If I have an art for sale site, I wouldn't want anyone to be able to just right click and save an image of my art.

Just asking, that's all, not making any judgement calls here. LOL

Disabling right-click does prevent people from obtaining images from a website. This is all downloaded to your computer anyway.

You can do this natively in AVant by disabling scripts, but that will disable all scripts for the entire page.

I know it's all downloaded to your computer, but most people don't even know how to access that stuff and this just makes it easier for them to "borrow"? stuff. LOL

This is awesome. I quite often use the right-click for many things other than saving pictures including Add to Bookmarks and page and tab navigation. It always annoyed me having to disable all the scripts and reload a page because someone was worried I might steal their pictures.

Thank you very much for coming up with this.
