REQUESTS FORUM IS A MESS

Post by hugh » Thu Jan 22, 2004 12:15 pm

I've been moved! - FYI Forum I'm talking about is "Requests"

How can anyone follow this forum? There are an impossible number of suggestions and responses floating about. Over 4000 posts on over 1000 topics!!

Is there a moderator out there with time on their hands? If so, could some structure be placed on this forum (e.g sub-forums) so that requests are organised in some way.

Here's a suggestion:
- Bug Fixes
- Toolbars (Standard Buttons, Address, Links, Search, Window Tabs, Status, Google, Other)
- Window Tabs Properties
- Sidebars (Search, Favorites, History, Blocked URLs)
- Browser Options
- Menu Layout (including Context menus)
- Mouse and Keyboard (including Shortcuts)
- Ads and Popup-killer
- Skins
- Integration (Windows, Download Managers, HTML Editors, RoboForm)
- Miscellaneous / Other

I think that's enough!

i agree. i usually try to see if what I'm about to say has been said and then usually get sidetracked while trying to find out or just run out of time.

I see what you are saying........you would like sub-forums within a forum index.....i.e. Forum>Requests>Sub-Forum indexes within Requests. It's a good "Suggestion".

That is probably why it was moved to the Forum Suggestions Index of the forum....why are you so upset about that?

I agree with you about making sub-forums inside the main forums but there is only one person who can do that and right now we haven't heard much from Mariuz. This would definitly make it easy for everyone to find answers to what they are looking for.

Because it was a forum sugestion. It goes here. It is a good one though.
'Minimal collateral damage' and 'entire star system' do /not/ belong in the same sentence.

I'm not upset (honest). I posted in the wrong forum in the first place - my apologies. Thanks to you all for the support for my idea.

AFAIK, its not possible for the default phpBB installation. Although, If someone knows a "hack" for phpBB to have sub-forums, let me know and Ill see what I can do.

I was about to post that same link bigC. If you need any help with the hack here is the forum topic covering it.

This and many more hacks can be found here.
