I prefer the phpBB2 forum over the YaBB forum. It has a much more professional look and feel, and is IMHO easier to navigate. :D

Keep up the GREAT work and good luck in the future. =D> =D> =D>

New forum looks good........font is a bit smaller than I like and can't seem to change it......

I like the feature from the old forum that allowed the last 10 posts to be viewed...this forum doesn't seem to have that feature. (Never mind...I found this feature)

It would have been nice to have had a "heads up" that the forum would be updated, etc.......if it was posted I missed it.

I was using a shortened version of my username in the old forum...that's not possible I guess in this new version..

All in all, It's a better look.

thanks

I love the new forum, i can finally edit my profile. I haven't tested it, but i'm assuming notifications work now, right?

I gotta be the dissenter! I never liked the look of phpBB. I'd prefer Invision's Powerboard or... forgot the name of the other I like. I thought the old board looked cute and friendly, and the navigation was very clear. This one looks a little smooth and slick for my liking.

However, it does seem to work well.

Sergei, under the profile option go to board style and select sub silver, it's much similar to the old forum look.
Hope that helps,

It looks good. I agree with Pip--it's a bit harder to read-is there a reason it doesn't extend to the sides of the screen? You also lose the "New Post" indcator as soon as you start to navigate. ie, when I first came on this evening I had 7 new posts--after I submitted this(the first time) the board behaved as if I'd seen them all instead of just one--even the indicators at the left were clear. Also, notification should be off as default.

Sara :)

EDIT: One problem solved--switched to subsilver in profile and now it fills my screen--
I'm at 1024x768.

I'm glad you guys finally switched over to phpBB, its much nicer. The old forum looked choppy and, well, old! Theres a lady bug on my ceiling. if i take it outside it might freeze to death..hrmm

EDIT: dont forget to get some groovy phpBB2 mods at http://www.phpbbhacks.com

Sara, notification can be set to off as default. In your profile, check no next to "Always notify me of replies:"

Yeah and I like the home page better with subsilver.......they are different .....at least on my computer they are......the only drawback is that inorder to see the homepage without the message to all users at the top, I have to close the forum and reopen it again.......make sense? Not to me!

Pip,

In the top screenshot, you are not logged in, since it says "Log in to check your private messages". Your choice of skins is stored in your profile, which obviously is only accessible once you log in, so that seems to be what is causing the trouble. Did you check the "automatically log me in each time" box when you logged in? Perhaps try deleting your cookies and logging in fresh.

I know but that's the screen I get "after" I log in to the forum....then in order to get the preferred forum homepage in subsilver, I have to close the forum and reopen it again and Walla.......there'e the page that should be there.......I have tried deleting cookies, etc........guess I am stuck with it like this........oh well.....small price to pay.. Thanks.
