This is a Software Support forum. Not a general discussion forum. You do NOT need to have large signatures and avatars simply because they don't add anything useful to the aim of the site.

I don't understand what you are asking for in the second part.

I agree with Drrae, overly large avatars and sigs are NOT going to be permitted on this board as there is simply no reason for such. All that would do is ruin the clean layout we have now. If you want large avatars/sigs, go to a GD forum, graphics forum, gamers forum.

Sometimes I view the forum on an 800x600 screen - if the images get any bigger then I would not be able to read the messages!

Sure do - either that or 1024x768 which is my main monitor. None of these new fangled hi-res tiny-text eyeball killers!

A 52" TV (1920x1080) is no better than a 37" TV as the same resolution or even a 24" computer monitor (1920x1200).

Edit: Fixed typo. TVs are 1920x1080, not 1920x1200.

It's better on HDMI. ;)
Especially for my movies I normally run off my laptop.

HDMI compared to what? Composite? Component? VGA? It should be no different from DVI.

Sorry, I don't really understand your point. Big display + small resolution = really big text. Add HDMI, and it's really big text with high quality. Add a bigger resolution, and it's still gonna be a lot bigger text than it would be on a smaller display. So what makes it better is large resolution, while still being able to have large text that your eyes can see (HDMI, text isn't all blury). Isn't that why people use 800x600?

There really is no difference between HDMI and DVI besides HDMI supporting sound.

Except that on computers the higher resolution doesn't automatically mean larger text..

I have to disagree. I haven't tested DVI, but between VGA and HDMI, I can see a clear difference in quality.

guys i am not saying that it would be as big as you say it is just avatar i couldnot find any of mine that small i am not saying huge. And if we did increase avatar size everyone who wants to stay very small can do so . How about a auto size that would make bigger ones and no it does not have any impact on the avatar it just would fit to the size you set it at. You make it sound like a crime some people like avatars some don't but donnot make it sound like i am crazy because it angers me

Why not just resize your too big avatars with an image editor to fit our 90x90 pixel requirement. Or use one of these sites,
