suggestion #9 - drag text to open links & search

Post by UFO UFO » Tue Jan 04, 2005 6:26 am

when dragging a link or a selected text outside of it to a clear area on the current web site, create a new tab depending on what you dragged:if it's a link,go to the link, else -search for the string that was selected.

You can do this with a middle mouse button.

And this with a floating toolbar.

...but not a bad idea at all...

Also I've got another idea, but I'm not sure if it was requested before...

Add "Open selected text (link) in new tab" to a text floating toolbar (not only link because often a web site it's not shown as link)

It has. You can add your support for it in this thread.

As for the other ideas, personally, I think it would be easier to just middle click the link if you want to open it, rather than select it and then drag it.

And for the search, the only floating toolbar I have activated is the text one specifically for this purpose.

I changed the name of this thread from suggestion #9 - put all config files on same folder to suggestion #9 - drag text to open links & search to better describe it.

so , did you add this to the to-do list? i can't find it....

please add it, it's a great function.

you can see it can be easily added by draging a link to the tab-bar itself...

Do a search for Drag & drop text

Keep in mind, too, that it's a list to help keep track of what people have requested, not a "to-do" list. Only Anderson decides what is on his to-do list. ;)

You'd have to ask him...

Personally, I don't see how he could catch them all.

We have taken a few off of the list, though, since they've been added.
