Possible addons (in the future)?

Post by statickitty » Mon Aug 25, 2014 3:17 pm

I'm genuinely sorry if this has been mentioned already - I just literally joined and am unfortunately in a bit of a rush to sit down and read through the forum properly.

I just recently switched to Avant from Chrome for numerous reasons and no longer see Firefox as a possible alternative.
It's been working great so far, apart from the ads. The ad-blocker option is enabled, as is anything else that's supposed to keep the annoyances out. Yet, I see tons of them.

Will there ever be a possibility for us Avant users to perhaps have a addon "store" of our own? Where we can have Adblocker, etc.
If not, that's alright too. I'm just curious, that's all.

My apologies again for the rushed post and thanks in advance.

We don't have this plan currently.
If you use chrome engine in Avant, go to Tools>chrome >options>extension>search and install adblock plus extension.

I'm using the chrome engine in Avant Ultime 2015 build 5, but I don't see 'chrome' under 'Tools' - what am I missing here ?

Tools--> Rendering Engine--> chrome

Xiaobings answer was for builds 2014, which you were using at the moment she answered you.

According to your profile you're using 2015 build 5 now, so my answer is correct now.

Tools (button with 9 dots on the top right) --> Rendering Engine--> Chrome

Once you click the word "Chrome," you'll see a menu with three words on it. One of them is "Options." From Options you'll see an "Extensions" entry on the left hand menu and a "Get more Extensions" link at the bottom once you click that.

I'm guessing Nederpietos thought you had used the Chrome Browser before and, after clicking Options, everything is the same as in Chrome itself. ...But since you never said anything about extensions, he wouldn't have known to answer that.

I am also facing the same issue. I have added the extensions under the Chrome rendering engine however unable to see its icon on the toolbar. Also there is no other way to access that extension. Please help :thumbdown:

All the extensions under chrome engine are listed here: Tools>chrome>options>extensions or Menu>rendering engine>chrome>options>extensions. Avant just support part of chrome extensions. What extension do you use?
