Address bar highlighting

Post by Coach25 » Fri Sep 05, 2008 7:05 am

How can I disable Address bar highlighting option? I don't like the idea because I get too many web adresses at one time shown in the adress bar. I don't find it useful at all.

I don't think this can be disabled at present. But I'll move this thread to requests for consideration.

I find it unneccessary. I vote for an option to disable.

I am with the other users on the "Address bar highlighting". It is annoying to say the least. Not useful at all for me.

I agree, it slows me down since I have to weed through seemingly endless URL's to find the homepave of the site I'm looking for instead of simply typing in the 1st letter or so of the site I want & having it come to the top. ](*,)

It seems as though the algorithm used to find matches isn't as great as it could be.

I'll tell you one way it could be better is by offering an option for HOW MANY url's are displayed on the drop down list. K-meleon offers this feature and I find it useful as well because like myname said, many times the list just doesn't show sites that have been visited frequently within the past day or so and it only shows so many urls. Either an option to show more and scroll through them or improve the algorithm, as well as give the option to take off the highlighting, would be ideal.

I'm using build 15 and am getting the very annoying address bar highlighting... (only now its underlining). I used to be able to type in 3 letters to get to most of my websites, but now I have to type it the whole website, because the order of the URL list is no longer in hierachical format :(!!

Please see screenshot. Has anyone found a way to disable this?

Also need help with this problem. The annoying thing is I managed to disable it in the older version but made the mistake of updating Avant last night. On the point off going back to IE because I find it so annoying.
