I tried the option of :

Tools -> Avant Browser Options -> Miscellaneous -> Use IE Favorites as bookmakrs

Yes! It brings the Groups back! Thanks.

But please put Groups back under the main menus instead of under Bookmarks. If menu real estate is a problem, just give us an Avant Browser Option for us to choose whether or not we display the Groups menu item. Simple solution, right?
Awesome, didn't know you could do this. Perhaps this should be part of the basic setup of avant with pictures showing the difference, avant is becoming increasingly complicated.

And yes, it would be nice with the option to have groups seperate.

The latest Version 11.0 Build 37 still puts the GROUPS under Bookmarks.

We rather prefer it in the Main Menu. It was easy and quick.

For Christmas .... ?

Hello :-)

Perhaps you could be interested reacting to my post on a similar topic (groups...) :

Perhaps a massive input could encourage the developpers to work deeply on the -important- group subject...

See you...

As long as it this situation is still existing, I want to go back to the last version which showing Groups in the MAIN MENU.

But I never kept absetup.exe of any previous versions. So I have to download it from the AVANT BROWSER ARCHIVE, and make the right choice to re-dowload.

Which was this last version ? Thank you.

I join the group of groups lovers and too ask to get back groups where they used to be. Groups and tabs were my 2 main reasons to switch to AB.

In the meantime, i reversed to old 10.2.51 release which i wisely saved before i installed the 11 version

Only one developer--Anderson Che comments@avantbrowser.com

BTW I added my groups as files on my links bar (I only have a couple)--works just fine. I use the IE favorites option.

I don't see the point adding a links bar if you have only a few. I use the feature "URL alias" (Tools).

I agree, there are more operations as "one click" (maximum one two or maximum three letters to type in the address bar). But it is quick and avoids taking space of an additional toolbar.

I also find having the Groups under Bookmarks much less convenient, it sounds like a trivial thing but I got used to it the other way

It would also be nice to be able to order the groups in the drop down

Another "little" bonus would be to have a "special" group that was created at startup consisting of all the links that were saved from the last session, this way even if we chose not to open them all at startup we would still have easy access to the last session

Please add one more vote for restoring "Groups" on the main menu. For me, half the purpose of having Groups is to be able to quickly and easily go to selected sites. Having to first go to Bookmarks is an unnecessary step. Additionally, I would find it most useful if the selected Group's links would open in a new tab instead of overwriting the existing tab. Thank you and Happy New Year!

Just downloaded the new version (11) and almost died when I saw my favorite feature (no kidding) was missing. I banged around and figured out where the Groups had been hidden, and finally jerryrigged up something to make it work again -- but it is sadly more difficult and less convenient than before.

Please, please, bring back the superb GROUPS option/capability in the easy-to-use layout we used to have. Along with the TABS and the ability to have a whole desktop of web views open at once without blowing out my system, the integral GROUPS feature was the biggest GRABBER that Avant had.

Please?
Thanks,
a big Avant fan (and spreader-of-the-word)

I agree and echo the thoughts of all of you. Would be great to have it back on and make it one less step. Thanks! 8)

please, bring the groups menu back in the way it was!

also, it was a good feature before to have an "add to groups >" in the right-click menu, when clicking on a tab. now this option is only available in the groups menu ("add current to >"). could you make such option again in the tab right-click menu?

I think EVERYBODY wants the groups back and I also think AndersonChe is well aware of that.

So... Assuming he's not an evil sadist, feeding himself with our grief, must be a reason if he didn't put them back already.

It's very sad and I was one of the first to complain about the missing groups, but I'm afraid there's little hope.

One think I'd like to see is a clear answer from AndersonChe on this subject, but I also imagine he has a life. ;-)

The only reasons I used Avant were the groups facility which I used more than anything else and the g shortcut for google.
The groups function saved me time every day when it was a separate function. It auto named new bookmarks and enabled me to set up bookmarks in groups for new projects, very quickly.

Now it looks like I have to create bookmarks to achieve the same end but the loss of the right click to add one page to a group is a loss.

Brilliant ideas all! I vote for 'em. I won't upgrade again unless the Groups feature is returned. Firefox is doing a pretty good job for me ...but no Groups there either.
Thanks for a great browser, but it just isn't working for me without the Groups feature that was so great.

Best regards, Babe

What about the "Create New Bookmark in This Folder" option?
IE8(Pro), Microsoft Security Essentials
Main PC:

Secondary PC same as primary but with Windows 7 x64 Ultimate as the OS.
