the patch just makes it use the most recent Gecko engine files, so it most likely will be just as fast.

No, "The Patch" also has some about: speed tweaks I'm almost certain. No use discussing it, We'll just wait and see. If WC can tweak the new version (if necessary) I'm sure he will.

if that's true, why don't you just manually "tweak" it? just go to "about:config" I think it is.

You were correct, WC did upgrade to the latest engine but he also tweaked the about:config, I just don't know what tweaks he made. There may be other speed tweaks he made to the code, but I don't know.

It all is really a mute point since Anderson is moving forward on his end.

the patch won't work on the newest version, because Anderson is changing some things in the Gecko engine itself afaik. the same changes would need to be applied to the patch files, in order to have full compatibility.

nm, I've just received information that there will be no problems upgrading the Gecko engine.

Yea, sorry about that.. But, only going by what was told by Anderson himself. Hopefully something soon.

Remember Anderson is Chinese so you can look at it from one of two points.

• It was a translation snafu from what the Chinese word that was translated as immenent, actually means in English.
  or
• The Chinese are an Ancient Race and time is more or less a frame of mind, not actually to be taken literally.
