Google Toolbar

Post by knight2000 » Sat Aug 16, 2003 2:20 am

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if it is possible to have the google toolbar in Avant Browser?  I am new to this browser and really like the google toolbar.  Ok, thanks.

As long as you're not using  Win98 or 98SE, the toolbar is there if you've downloaded it.  Go to View and check Google.  I don't think it handles the new, Beta, Bar--I've got 98SE, so I can't check.Image

Thanks, I have WinXP Home, and I have google toolbar on IE, but its the beta version.  I'll try one that is not and see if it works.  Thanks for the tip.

??? ok, I installed the google toolbar in Avant Browser when I am logged into Windows XP Home as an Administrator and was able to use the google toolbar in Avant Browser....but when I login as a User (with restrictions) and use Avant Browser, the google bar misteriously disappears, even from the "View" menu.  So I went back into Administrator mode and it reappeared.  I think its a bug.  If anyone has any solutions to this, please let me know.  I like to use my computer in User mode rather than Administrator so that I, and any other person such as a hacker can't cause damage to important system functions.

Thanks

??? Sorry to have only just picked this up but can someone confirm that Google Toolbar can't be loaded into Avant if you are on Win98SE? I don't see why as the download instructions include for Win98SE but the download only goes into my IE browser, even though it's not open.
Laptop Windows 8.2 64 bit, IE11; PC Win 8.1, IE11. Both AB Lite 2016 b 2 IE Favorites, IE11 Standards rendering engine.

If you're asking why it'll work in IE6 with Win98 but not Avant, it's because of the OS architecture.  I know that's not really a good answer, but that's all I understand about it.

MyIE2 is the same way.  Windows 98 with a IE-type tabbed browser simply don't get along.  You can certainly try it, but I would not suggest it.

I have Windows 2000, IE 6 and have already loaded the Google Toolbar.  I would like to load the Avant Browswer.  Are they compatible?  If so, should Avant be loaded first?

I believe 2000 is fine.  Installation order shouldn't matter.  I believe quite a few users use 2K with it, so hopefully some of them can respond.
