Fastest Web Browser on Earth!

Post by ABman » Tue Oct 26, 2004 1:26 pm

Just noticed in my ZoneAlarm list instead of Avant Browser it now says "The Fastest Web Browser on Earth!"

Why the change?

I noticed that on the setup file, too.

Sort of gives it a "circus" feel, in my opinion.

I don't!!
It should say "Avant Browser" and that's it!!

Also because I think there is no way to change that..and, as it is now, one can't make out it's AvantBrowser unless he knows what that "A" icon means! Isn't that so?

And if I don't know it, he will cast me out of Valhalla and laugh at me!

Title of this thread caught my eye -- because version 10 build 30 is NOT the fastest browser for me anymore??

Has anyone else noticed a slowdown in Avant's loading time and page rendering time, or is it just me?

Agreed. Beta 28 was probably the fastest for me.

what I noted is a big latency in opening pages..esp forum replies..but I thought it had to do with my adsl line..

so, anyone else experiencing this?

It seems equally fast to me.

I agree with Crom, it should just say Avant Browser.

Should jsut say Avant Browser.

Opera already had claimed "The Fastest Browser on Earth!"
Im not saying either is right, it just is wierd when multiple items take claim to the same thing.

(pssst.. not something you want the girls to know... )
'Minimal collateral damage' and 'entire star system' do /not/ belong in the same sentence.

Yup, well, a couple of hours ago, I uninstalled build 30 and went back to build 29. It was immediately noticeable. I had the lost speed back; the "latency in opening" that crom notes in the quote above seems to be resolved now.

Hate it when I have to go back to an earlier build to regain that "feel of speed" I've enjoyed with Avant! :D

Count me in as another build 29 "speed" guy. Been running 30 for a couple of days, and noticed right off the bat it wasn't as fast. After reading Gary's post went back to 29 and can definitely see the diff.

Hi guys

Just wondering what folks views are as to which build seems fastest, 029 or 033 for them?

I've been experiencing slowdowns with the latest build 33, unfortunately.. :(

I had been having slow downs for a day or so and had sttributed them to the sites I frequent (small sites run that I visit for business) After, installing 033, I've noticed a definite increase in speed. THe sites I had visited are still slower than others, but I'm starting to wonder now if it was my previous build that was really running slow.

(On a sidenote, the forum has been mving slow for me lately. Am I the only one?)

build 33 slow here, as well. At first, I thought it was my machine, so I went thru the usual performance tweaks and still slow (this forum incuded). As a matter of fact, when I click links, it seems that the browser quickly "scrolls" to the new page. Believe it or not I actually see this. I see it even more the longer Avant remains open.
