Feature request: a button to disable/enable java

Post by peter129 » Thu Sep 18, 2008 2:40 am

Opera has this fantastic option that let me put a button to disable/enable java right there with the "back" "forward" "refresh" etc buttons. The feature is very useful as I disable java, browse MUCH faster without all those java based ads loading, then when I need it I just enable it, or evern better, right click the page and set a rule that allows java to run for this specific site!

Could we see something like this in Orca?

If you are referring to disabling Java applet, this is found under Tools. As a workaround for javascript type about:config into the url and then to find javascript or java type in the word. You should see an enable.javascript and you can change it to false. Since the interface is provided by one programmer who is trying to get the browser to a mature level, we might have to wait for something more sophisticated.
