Looks the same except for the date and the word Beta at the end (don't remember Beta)

I thought Release Candidates were more stable than Betas.

It looks like an old (pre online storge) version of Avant. I started adding the patches and it stopped working. I deleted it from my system.

Well, its real unfortunate that they had to just change the name and release an old version as a new release. Maybe an admin should let them know. Don't know what good that will do though.

Odd that they would even do that, to what end?

Maybe to stir up wider interest before the next "imminent" release?

Or maybe they thought we were referring to the Release Candidate as the "New Orca".

I just had this great idea; how about we all be patient? sound good?
Anderson is working on Dr. Orca, he's told me himself. it's just going to be a little bit longer.

I think we are being patient. I, for one, am just excited that after 3 years there is the possibility of finally getting a new DR in the house with the potential of including some additional features.

I have used Orca since it was released and have really appreiciated the patchwork War Crazy has done but he can only do so much without access to the code.

This could easily be the best of both worlds (Avant & FF) if we could just get the same feature set of FF. Orca is my primary browser but I do miss RoboForm and the ability to use GreaseMonkey and extensions.

So I continue wait, ........... patiently.

well you were being patient, until this thread was started. I understand the feeling you get when you just can't wait for something to happen, but I think it is apparent now that you have that feeling (actually not just you). it would be a shame to throw that three years of patients away by getting so anxious so soon to the dead line.

I didn't mean to sound so rude though, I'm sorry for that.

Wow, what warranted such a response? Yes, you are being rude for no good reason. All we are doing is discussing the upcoming release of a new anticipated piece of software.

And what the heck are you talking about anyway, who's throwing anything away. It's not like us discussing it is causing it to not happen. Unlike others here, I have actually paid for Avant. I believe in what Anderson is doing and so I sent him money. Not that it matters, but can you say the same?

what I said wasn't directed towards just you, it was mostly directed too everyone mentioning the "imminent" factor, and some sarcastic remarks that kinda got me irritated. once again... sorry.

it would be a shame to throw it all away meaning, you've waited too long and have been so good about waiting, why throw that away? the new version will still come, but being impatient will only make it seem it's coming slower.

Oks guys, it's pretty obvious it's not gonna be released any time soon, so until we hear directly from Anderson to the contrary, can we just leave it at that before this thread gets any more "rude" than it's already gotten .......

@addonsfan

Asking why it's not hear yet, especially since the date of the last release, is in no way "throwing away" anything, and if something gets you irritated, may I suggest not replying at all?.

good suggestion, but I'll have to work on it. more like "personality change" imo.

Oh no, c'mon! The rewriting of AvantBrowser was the reason for me to switch to Orca.

What I meant was Kand.. Was that it will probably use Firefox v2 maybe v3 I really don't know. Thats all I meant. But, it will still be based off of Avant that wont change. But as Orca is now what 2 years old. It needed it.
