I always wanted a download manager to be added to Avant Browser :D
I think it would be better to add a resume function like other browsers

 Oh no, another new version of AB with another new fancy feature, but wasn't be better to concentrate on elimination of old and annoying bugs?
This is exactly what I have already often said in this board. New features are implemented instead of fixing the old and very annoying bugs. What does a (perhaps) good download manager use me if the browser itself does not work properly? Hopeless! The opinion of (more and more) users seems to be uninteresting for the developer. I have given up to hope that browser gets bug-free some day. This is the reason why I use Opera mainly at the moment.

I don't think that Anderson have got a magic wand to solve all bugs, sometimes is really hard to find and fix a bug... maybe he needs help!

A good thing could be to open project, like firefox, so other developers can help him!

These are always the same arguments. But this changes nothing at the facts. The developer is the only one which knows when he has implemented which feature. Innumerable helps were offered and a lot of tips were given in another place. But it seems much more importantly to add new buggy and (how many users stated) halfhearted functions like a download manager but to eliminate old bugs. Who would like to make a professional program does not come to the aim so. I understand if the developer puts his own priorities, but then, he does not need to be surprised if more and more users look for alternatives. The forum is full of such contributions. Look here:

- Bye Bye Avant
- What has happened to Avant?
- Avant Exodus
- 11.5b16 losing scroll wheel and ability to enter text box
- AB 11.6, what can we expect?
...

... and at least here in this thread. I have not listed many more purely problem-related topics at all!

These are all individual cases? I don't think so!

Nice, I no longer have the problem of the browser freezing on opening of many picturefilled sites, like when you look at game screenshots.

Really miss a "Download with Avant Browser" in the right click menu.

annoying behaviour about download manager: if dnload popup window appears, giving you chance to choose location and name for file. so far it's ok. but if you CANCEL it then it still opens another popup for asking to save/open file as regular dnload will do. so if i cancel dnload it still asks me to choose again dnload or not.

also it cannot resume partial dnloads which is most important feature in such managers. so far i would say, nothing new in 11.6.

and of course there should be a button to access to dnload manager quickly, not travelling in menus

another thing:
if dnload manager dnloads something, it reserves exactly the same size what the file is in hard drive. but if you cancel dnload and also delete it, the partially dnloaded file with full size of (kilo/mega/giga)bytes will still remain in disk and will be not deleted.

is it really beta or some pre-alfa release?

Mouse wheel to change Tabs does not work with 11.6b2, neither does the hold right mouse/wheel option.

I reinstalled 11.5.21 to double check this problem and upon reinstalling 11.6b2 Avant loses wheel/tab ability completely. #-o

Amen. I still occasionally check on AB's development but as a looooong time user and used-to-be fan, I'm sick of new featured being added and old problems not being addressed.

Anderson has all but ruined his great creation by ignoring the problems and forging ahead with unneeded junk.
