New Icon in Bookmark items

Post by ABman » Wed Apr 25, 2007 4:25 pm

Can anyone tell me what the icon with a blue circle with a white cross and arrow does in a Bookmark entry? Sorry I guess I'm impatient and should really wait for the change log. :)

...Or you can try clicking it and seeing what it does. ;)

It opens the bookmark in a new tab.

Yes, but just clicking the normal entry does the same for me. I don't have the "Always open new window for Bookmarks" clicked. Now if it did open a new window then that would be useful.

Maybe it should be setup to do the opposite if that option is enabled.

The only time it opens a new tab for me is when
the TOOLS, AVANT OPTIONS, NEW WINDOW, BOOKMARK is checked.

If that is not selected it just opens the bookmark in the same window.

Another observation, they are only there in the first layer of bookmarks and after clicking on ORGANIZE BOOKMARKS, they disappeared.

It's sort of confusing when a different person answers a quoted text to another...

So, for now, that still doesn't really clear anything up. ;)

Your issue is probably a faulty conf file, but that still doesn't change what that icon is for.

If, for some reason, your "Home Page" button quit working, that doesn't mean that it wasn't put there to open your home page.

KY Dave never answered my question, so I'm not sure what the issue is there.

Yes, we were discussing the same ICON.

In RC3, it shows up when the cursor is over a BOOKMARK as long as they are NOT inside a FOLDER. Any BOOKMARKS in a FOLDER don't show the ICON in your uploaded image.

Sorry about not replying, thought that ABman's reply would suffice.

I haven't been using the RC3 much. I test each new version for a while and then move back to 10.25 to get the RSS functionallity and dependability I need.

I'm using XP Pro all updates.

That's odd. Mine show up whether inside a folder or not.

Picture file
Image linked above shows the results of hovering cursor over link NOT in folder.

Image lilnked below shows the results of hovering cursor over link in folder.
Picture file

My cursor isn't shown, but the info box indicates that my cursor is over the link.

After clicking the ORGANIZE BOOKMARKS the icons aren't shown anywhere. Shutting down AVANT, then RESTARTING AVANT causes the icons to return to the first layer of BOOKMARKS, but still not in FOLDERS.
