Hi, everybody, :P
I'm Avant team. As a representative of Avant developer Anderson, here thank you for your support to Avant and Dr.orca. And thanks to every administrator with all your help.

 At this moment, we plan to do name collecting for Dr.orca. and we appreciate if you could help. The name should be abbreviated, creative, positive, expressive, etc, which can be used as a domain name like www.****.com in times to come.

Orca Browser http://www.orcabrowser.com is available. Keeps with the Avant Browser theme and I've kinda become accustom to Orca

Quote:
Aspect

Main Entry: aspect
Part of Speech: noun
Definition
: perspective
: a position facing a particular direction
: appearance to the eye or mind
: an act of looking

Synonyms: angle, bearing, direction, facet, feature, gimmick, hand, outlook, perspective, phase, position, prospect, regard, scene, side, situation, slant, switch, twist, view, vista

I suggest ASPECT since we are looking at the web through the browser.
Aspect would also provide the advantage being early in alphabetical listings, much the same as Avant does.
It could also use the same "A" icon.

Before deciding to keep Orca as the name, some legal research should be performed. I believe that Orca is a trademarked name for an existing commercial application.

EDIT again: AvantFX is taken also. http://www.avantfx.com/links.php :(

Here is a link to the US Patent and Trademark Office search page so you could see if a trademark is registered or not. I am not sure how this works...

I prefer to stay with the name Orca Browser (although I use Avant!).

I preferred Orca as it was great name & icon, but it is taken & it is better to come up with a new unique name.
Aspect is taken by Aspect Software.
Why not a Chinese name that when translated starts with A and means forward looking, then the A icon in red could be used.
A Linux version could be used using the Linux gecko engine with a Yellow & Black A icon.
Just my Canuck 2¢ worth.

Favant (with F like Firefox) and Gavant (with G like Gecko) are my favorites.

Sorry, but angledust is correct, it's already taken.

Odd that my search didn't turn that up.

You are correct that there is not currently an Aspect Browser but the fact that Aspect Software exists can allow them to sue over the propriety rights as the browser is software the Aspect name could lead some one to assume it was created by Aspect Software. This is probably the reason they are looking to change the name from Orca, remember Orcas are Anderson's favourite animal so he'd would use that name if he could.

[aside]KY:As for Aspect what search parameters/engine did you use?[/aside]

p.s. 'Orca' users must be able to rejoice as I don't see anyone going to this trouble if they were not planing on releasing a new/updated version of it.

I agree, I've been waiting a long time for the NEW Orca. I still use the patched one from time to time. I'd use it as is now if RoboForm worked with it.
