Holy crap that's fast.

Opened 22 tabs in less than 5 seconds. Avant takes 30 for the same tabs.

Damn, you're good.

Now if we could just get RoboForm, FF extensions and Grease Monkey to work.

Just kidding WC, you've done some rgeat stuff here.

THANK YOU!!

War Crazy,

Excellent job! I tip my hat to you. While I am not a coder or any type of software designer, I do appreciate the update the the tweaks and increased speed etc.

Cudos!

it crashed right away. I had the gmail login page in the "re-open" window, as soon as it loaded it crashed. it doesn't always make it crash though, it seems to happen randomly.

also, if it's using the latest Gecko engine, why is it still not working with the "empty trash" feature in Google?

edit:
I think that crash was a one time thing. after that, I tried really hard to get it ot crash, and usually it did without effort... but now I can't get it to crash. MUCH better.

Some of the crashes are internal and therefor unfixable without the source code (Which only Anderson has) The most likely reason as to why the Empty Trash button dosen't work is because Orca is bassed of the geko engine but it has been modified so it is not exactly the same and still contains a few bugs, theres not much I can do about that. But I'll still look into it to see if there is any possible work around.

Edit* posted befor I saw your edit, glad to see it is not crashing anymore :)

yea, I'd recommend this patch to anyone using the original latest release of Orca.
it does seem a bit faster than I remember.

I installed this patch last night and noticed an "Orca" shortcut on my desktop. I checked the properties and it wasn't correct so I deleted it. I have been launching Orca as normal and I am guessing the patch is running because the default directory pointed to the Orca folder.

Thanks for the new patch241 Warcrazy :)

I still have problems with the Disable scripts on.
My orca RC3 install folder is
C:\Programas\Orca Browser <<<with a space between Orca and Browser words.

I instaled the patch241 to his default folder
C:\Programas\OrcaBrowser <<<no space between Orca and Browser words.
after launch i got some crashs on some sites , because probably they use scripts or something like that , when i put Disable scripts off i dont have crashs , but the problem is that scripts are need.

Next i did a copy of xpti.dat of patch2_0_1 to
C:\Programas\OrcaBrowser\components
but didn´t work , i have the same script problem.

What i did next was unistall and install the patch241 to the orca RC3 folder
C:\Programas\Orca Browser
i have the script problem also , next i did a copy of xpti.dat of patch2_0_1 to
C:\Programas\Orca Browser\components
and is working , no problem with scripts and sites , so i think the path where we install the patch is important , was important in this case.

but anyway i dont know why with the new xpti.dat file i have scripts problems , looks like just i have that problems , right ?
My xp is xp pro sp2 not inglish version.
What i can do to try fix this ?

I will continue using this new patch version mixed with the 201 xpti file till other version work :)

Like Dale said , i notice that also , the shortcut that patch install to desktop dont go to the exe but to a skin file that dont exist.

Here is 2 sites that i have problems with Disable scripts on , the page stat load but stop and next when i clik on something or on a button orca crash.

Using 2.4.1 I was able to open both those sites with no problems at all.

BTW, I installed patch 2.4.1 as directed, it created OrcaBrowser, I then went and deleted the other 2 folders (Orca Browser and the Original patch) copied the shortcut from new OrcaBrowser (no spaces) to my desktop and everything works fine.

I also disabled scripts and was able to access both sites without any problems. I originally uninstalled patch 2.4 and than installed patch 2.41. The problem was the "Orca" icon on my desktop was set to something like Orca Skn. I deleted that and have launched Orca like I always have.

I do appreciate this patch as my VM leaks appear to have been fixed.

It works for me without Disable Scripts.

Another update fixing a few minor problems as well as a crash.

I recommend uninstalling the previous patch before installing this one (to remove Orca from system startup, and delete the extra icon placed on the desktop)

v2.4.2 (January, 26, 2008)
-----------------------
- Fixed installer no longer adds Orca to system startup
- Fixed installer placing a non existent skin icon on users desktop.
- Fixed a crash when watching videos on line that require QuickTime.
- Reduced Orcas overall memory usage.

I had made a mistake with the installer and accidently enabled adding to to system startup, but it is fixed now.
