Merriam-Webster Toolbar

Post by Arandora » Tue Oct 28, 2003 2:38 pm

Can I take it that AB does not support the Merriam-Webster Toolbar or rather that you cannot download it into AB?  Same goes for Google Toolbar?  ???
Laptop Windows 8.2 64 bit, IE11; PC Win 8.1, IE11. Both AB Lite 2016 b 2 IE Favorites, IE11 Standards rendering engine.

The Google toolbar is supported for XP and 2000--but not 98 or ME(I think I'm right about ME). One work around is to have a link to Google on your toolbar.

I don't know about Mirriam Webster, but Dictionary. com works with a right click for me. (opens a window in IE, but we can't have everything ;D )

You can do the same with the Merriam-Webster toolbar too (I just went and tried it!). You can't display it, but if you install it under IE you can use it in Avant by selecting a word and then right-clicking to look it up, which is actually easier than pasting or typing it into a toolbar!

You can both install and display the Google Toolbar, (in 2000/XP anyway), though personally I hide it until I need one of its minor features as Avant's search and popup-blocking are as good.
