AB no longer fully supported by Picasa

As of today when I access my Web Albums on Picasa 3:
i) On my PC running Vista Home Premium, all the albums are there, the thumbnails open but when I click on a thumbnail to start a slideshow or view individual pics, no image loads.
ii) On my laptop running Win 7 Home Premium I cannot even access My Photos, just get a message at top of Picasa screen "You are using a browser that is not fully supported. Some features may not work too well, but you are welcome to have a look around."
The albums load and can be viewed as normal with IE8.
Is this a Picasa problem or does my faithful old (but hitherto working fine) AB version now have to be put out to pasture and replaced with one which, judging by the New Version Help Forum, still has its fair share of other problems?

Which rendering mode do you use in Tools>Rendering mode ?
It works if you use IE8 mode in your vista and IE9 mode in your win7?

Isn't rendering in AB v 2010 onwards? I'm still on the old version.
And just noticed that I was still showing in my profile that i'm using IE9 on my laptop when I went back to IE8 a while ago. Corrected now.

Yes, I know. But I've posted the question for any help on why this issue has suddenly started on the old AB version which I am still using on both machines.

There is apparently a problem with Picasa so a reprieve for AB.
