ehamady,
Could you give a screenshot showing how it looks like in your system.
Or could you give some steps for us easily replaying it?

Here is how I can recreate the problem every time:
1. Open a new tab
2. Make sure its window is maximized (it doesn't matter if the window is blank or is displaying a website)
3. Click on the window's "Restore" icon to allow the window to be resized
4. Drag the right side of the window to the right
5. The window's borders are now corrupt

See xiaobing's screenshot of a corrupted window on the 1st page of this thread for an example.

Here is a screenshot:

As you can see, the top and right borders are not rendered properly.

Tab window tending to stick to the desktop is a known problem since tabs were put into separate processes. It's more easy to happen when the system responds slowly. For preventing it from happening less you may have to keep the system to be less busy.

I've used Avant's tabs without problems for years. It only started happening to me since the v.2012 builds. I display a CPU usage meter and can see that the rendering problem happens when the system isn't busy at all.

Not sure I answered your question.
Could you make a video about the situation described above?
Here get an easy to use free Desktop Screen Recorder:

Ok, if that's what you need. I may even record a video with just my video camera.
Can't you recreate the problem? I can easily cause the rendering problem in less than a minute on any Vista computer.

Yes, we can't reproduce it since 2012 build 6.

I can't reproduce the problem on vista with the aero theme on.
Disabling the aero theme will make a difference on your machine?

Or if you have a xp disk u could go back to it . So this is only my opinion after trying to use vista . :)
I wouldn't change the OS just to accommodate a browser. The only problem Avant is giving me is this window rendering issue. All will be well once it's fixed for Vista. If it isn't fixed soon then I'll just switch to another browser, which would be a shame since I've always been such a staunch advocate of Avant and turned so many people on to it. I'll give the programmers another week to fix it. If they can't fix it by then it just may be time to move on to a different browser experience.

I thought in a FORUM that I'd be able to respond with AN OPINION OF MY OWN. Geeze...

Why can I recreate the problem on any Vista computer with 2012 build 6, 7, and 8, and you can't? I can easily reproduce it on Vista computers at work, my friends' Vista laptops, etc.

You can't reproduce it, yet a video of me reproducing it will help you solve it? My screenshots and detailed description on how to cause the problem aren't enough? I need help understanding this. I have a Masters in Computer Science and I'm an expert programmer and troubleshooter, so please don't be afraid to talk "technical" with me.

After I send you the video, what are you going to ask me for next? This is so easy to recreate on any Vista computer. I don't see how a video will do any good, but I'll make one. Then there should be no doubt.

That desktop screen recorder (CamStudio) doesn't work on any of the Vista computers that I've produced the problem on. I'll have to try another.

Jasmine and xiaobing,

I used a free screen recording application called Camtasia Studio and recorded a 30 second video, with audio, clearly recreating the window border problem. Let me know how to send it to you. Note: the video file is 17 MB.

Download free trial of Camtasia Studio at:

I use AthenX. The rendering problem happens with all the skins I've tried.
How do you "disable" a skin?

Here is the screenshot of the rendering problem that I've posted several times:
Image

Here are the 2 steps to create the problem:
1. Open two tab windows with any webpage on each tab.
In my screenshot, I've opened ESPN's NHL Standings in one tab and ESPN's NHL Scores in the other. Any multiple tab windows of any webpages will create the problem.

2. Resize one of those tab windows and move it around on the screen. The border of tab window being moved breaks up and does not render properly. In my screenshot, I've resized the NHL Scores tab window then moved it. You can see that the border has lost its rendering.
