Google search through the address bar

Post by Jorge Junior » Wed Aug 17, 2011 5:18 pm

Well, I'm not sure if it's a bug or a feature request.
When we type a word or a sentence (not an URL) in the IE or Firefox address bar, it automatically performs a Google search. Why doesn't Avant do the same?
I use the latest Ultimate version with Mozilla rendering engine by default.

I believe you must Check the box at Tools > Avant Browser Options > Miscellaneous > Enable Avant Browsing Error Page to enable Address Bar searching

Not intuitive at all. I could never imagine I'd have this result by enabling that option.
Thank you, bigC

Do you have any idea how to turn searching from the address bar OFF? I already had the Avant error page disabled, so I tried enabling it, but it still searches from the address bar. I turned the error page off again, but it still made no difference.

No sorry, things must have changed. Is it the same for all rendering modes?
