Has the Google toolbar problem (*) been overcome in version 11?

(*) Pressing spacebar in the search window takes you away from the page.

IIRC it's fixed in v11.
Thanks Anderson for checking out my AB 11.0 feature request list,
now it's time to go on with 11.8:

No, it's not quite fixed yet: pressing the spacebar now doesn't do anything

And the old problem is still there:
Pressing spacebar in the search window takes you away from the page

Fix the Google toolbar problem by going to the Avant Browser Archive and load a previous version http://avant.it-mate.co.uk/default.asp? ... /10_Series

You could also try this with the new version. tools, AB options, search engine, standard search and copy into respective spots.

Pepito: That was my previous comment. It works just fine for me with the latest Avant version 11.0 b5 and the latest Google Toolbar version 4.0.1019.5266. If it does not work for you, there is something wrong in your configuration.

I would do the following:

1) Close Avant. Make sure to check in Task Manager (CTRL-ALT-DEL) that avant.exe is gone.

2) Install the latest Avant & Google Toolbar

3) Delete conf.dat in C:\Documents & Settings\[your username]\Application Data\Avant Profiles\.default\conf.dat (Avant will re-generate a new copy automatically)

4) Start Avant and enable Google Toolbar & Google Toolbar Helper in Avant add-on

5) Enable Google Toolbar in View -> Toolbars

6) Copy the search strings that Fuzz listed into the search options

Good Luck :!:

I tried all of your advices, but Google Toolbar is not working correct in AB. There is no problem in IE.
Try using the spacebar in Google Toolbar when this tab is open:

The spacebar problem has been present in all beta, pre-release, etc. versions of 11.0. The problem goes away after selecting a search that has a space from the list that appears when you type. After that search, the spacebar seems to work OK. Very annoying.

I tried this too, but ist doesn't work anyway!
Spacebar (blank) doesn't work!
"Spacebar-Throwing" seems to be a problem with Avant Browser/GoogleToolbar-extension and some sites and their webprogramming!
I didn't have any problems with the resortlabs-link.

This problem with Google toolbar is so annoying that eventually, if its not fixed with the official release I will SADLY stop using Avant all together.

I really like Avant but for me using Google within the browser is very very important.

I hope Anderson reads this thread and try to solve this profound problem.

The spacebar issue seems to be random in that it works sometimes. More times than not it does not work. It does work in Internet Explorer 6 and 7 and in Firefox.
