To get the Favicon in your favorites readd them then it will show up.

Alright I found how to make it work. Open link from favorites then when you go to readd it rename it(like adding a 2 at the end) then when you open favorites again both the links will have a favicon and you can get rid of the renamed one.

Edit: Now I'm off to readd all my favorites. 8)

I just thought that when I readded my favorites and it asked me if I wanted to overwrite the existing one that is was only changing the URL and not the favicon. BTW this doesn't work with all site, some you still can't get a favicon for(atleast I can't).

Just found out that changing skins will not affect favicons. One down side though is that any skins that had custom favicons(like any of Mariuzs' OSX skins) will revert back to the IE standard so any sites that do not have favicons will use the default IE one.

You are using the latest build(8.02b207) and not the beta right?

I reverted back to 8.02_207 from 8.03_beta_8 and am getting favicons in both the "Address Bar" and the Tab.

I uninstallled 8.03_beta_8 after making sure I had backed up my skins, and did a new install of 8.02_207. I did not delete any of the user options in the XP "C:\Documents and Settings\User_name\Application Data\Avant Browser".

All seems to be going well.

I lost all my favorites when I got the latest version of Avant earlier today. No matter what I did: no favicons anywhere.

Then I found FavIconizer http://www.codeproject.com/tools/favico ... print=true Download it and run it (it might take a while if you have a lot of favorites). There are now favicons in my favorites list but not yet in the address bar. But it's a start :)

Sadly, the GDI leak still hasn't been fixed, even with 8.02.207. After surfing for just a few minutes, opening a few tabs, and visiting perhaps 15 pages, my GDI Objects count is well over 2,000 again. IMHO, fixing the GDI Objects leak should be the number one priority for Anderson...

There seem to be more items in my right-click window--."Translate into English" (neat!) and "back links"--but what are "back links"?

Sara :)

 Indeed. Isn't it about time already?

Focus, Anderson. Focus.

7.0.5.2 was the last version I've used that remained unhampered by the unwelcome presence of this regrettably ubiquitous memory monster!

Backwards links are pages that have links to the website you are browsing. So if you go to the Avant Browser homepage and right click "backwards links" you will get a list of pages that link to the Avant Browser homepage. Clicking on any of those pages you should indeed find such a link somewhere.
