Since MS decided not to release IE9 (and above) for Windows XP, is running Avant good replacement with the IE9+ engine? This includes for running Flash, Java, etc... -

For IE, Avant is a front end (unlike Firefox or Chrome, which are built in). Therefore you will need a version of IE on your computer. For XP (as you know) the last available is IE8.

Avant doesn't have its own IE engine. The IE engine in Avant comes from the IE browser you installed in your system. So there is no way to use IE9+ engine in XP system.

It has never had its own engine.
