I must regret and reject Avant
I stuck firstly for Advanced Browser, then for Avant Browser, and at last for Orca Browser. Some day, I got troubles with Orca supposingly due to my system's problems. So, I had to switch to Advanced Browser again. Unfortunately, even the Ultimate version is far beyond any criticism. - Even its old nice skins are less in number to choose from, say, Office Adaptive is not available (IMHO, the best one). More seriously affected were the internal processes. So, I could count up to 4 ybrowsers running in the Windows Task Manager plus avant itself. They occupied totally RAM (up to 450 Mb) and loaded the core proccessor (up to 100%) while no other programs were running at the time. The processor's resources were vasted awfully this way.
IMHO, the situation with Avant is very much like to that in a clinic where patients are cured too long rowards their deaths. All programs reach once the stage of being completely matured and commencing to fade and decay.
I will therefore turn back to the (older) Orca Browser.

Re: I must regret and reject Avant
Avant use multiprocess now, so it's normal to see several ybrowser.exe in your task manager if you open more 4 tabs. Obviously, multiprocess takes more Memory compared with single process, but it also has the advantage to aviod freezing your browser or even the whole computer.
From my experience, Avant is more Memory saving compared with other multiprocess browsers.
Have you tried firefox rendering mode in Avant 2012? It enve faster than firefox browser itself.
About the skins Office Adaptive , you can ask them to add it,

Re: I must regret and reject Avant
To run Avant 2012 properly you would have to run a 4 kernel processor appropriately. However, what is the share of such processors among real users?! 5-10-15% ?! - A the rest would like to find older versions still OK.
PLEASE LET THEM STILL BE DOWNLOADABLE!

Re: I must regret and reject Avant
Just a slight correction "Advanced Browser" is NOT related to Avant Browser

Re: I must regret and reject Avant
Yes, though it's changed it's name to Ace Explorer apparently. Wouldn't recommend it though (been a long time since I tested it, but if memory serves, it was adware).

If you do not relate it to Avant Browser, it does not imply that it is really not related to:MysteryFCM wrote:Just a slight correction "Advanced Browser" is NOT related to Avant Browser
_www.advancedbrowser.com/screenshot.htm
So far we can see, Advanced Browser has a bit more attractive and intellectually more advanced interface (e.g. in History menu, section View, there are 4 choices available instead of only 3 in Avant plus coloured buttons and something else more); provided that Advcanced browser started long before Avant did, you cannot argue that Advanced browser is not related (in your mind or elsewhere or generally) to Avant browser. Otherwise, your mother is not related to you yourself.

Re: I must regret and reject Avant
I don't want to hurt anyone here. I merely think that any dizzy offering to download the latest version is not worth the attention of all users; instead there must be some indication like ... 'the latest browser for multikernel processors', etc. I will not think that now some 90% of all users have anything like that. So, you are working for just that amount of the whole public.
Alas, ACDC picture viewer was once also a good apllication. And what has become of it?! Just as an example of thinking this way.

Re: I must regret and reject Avant
I have viewed all the older versions of Avant again and stated that I can properly use the version 11_07_Build46 USB only, which does contain only ONE instance of Avant if running; the newer ones let 2 through 4 instances running aimed for use with 2 to 4 kernel processors. I can't see the reason to use the newer ones if not running such processors. Connection to websites goes then much slower if not.
Also, I will surely use the orca browser even if it's old now.
The (old) hardware determines my decision.

What version of IE you have installed ?romulus wrote:More seriously affected were the internal processes. So, I could count up to 4 ybrowsers running in the Windows Task Manager plus avant itself. I didn't read all posts , but you need try Avant Ultimate build 8 - firefox rendering (not IE rendering) .
But is better that you have IE 7 installed , if you have IE 8 you will have allot avant.exe running and ""load'ing' the core proccessor (up to 100%)"" ..as you said ^^^^
Unless you don't like use firefox in avant.....
Install IE7 and try Avant Ultimate build 8 - firefox rendering and see.
