Check in every so often to see when v12.0 comes out. You just might come back but thanks for being here all those years.

I have to agree. I have used AvantBrowser for several years but recent releases have not kept up the original standard and don't really encourage loyalty at this point.
Crashing and freezing have caused a few rude words I can tell you.

I see V12 mentioned but what kind of timeline are we talking?
Is it going to be that much better?
Like many others I would like to stick with the browser but can we wait long enough and will we be rewarded for the persistence I wonder?

Guys you don't have to leave you can use say firefox or opera and so on. My point being u can use 2 browsers. what to do is use firefox this is example then u have avant on desktop then add firefox also this will be on your desktop to pick say firefox it will work on firefox you still can go to avant forums through firefox. Then wait for new version of avant to be released not a big deal guys . You want it to be all fixed it is being revamped you don't want to rush anderson

I take your point. Like most people I use various browsers anyway. The fact is I used to use Avant probably 80% of the time simply because it was good enough to use that much.
And sorry but my original question still stands, will V12 be that much better, because the last few releases and updates have not helped the browser much in my opinion.
I am ever hopeful.

Personally, l am not simply a fair-weather friend to Avant and Anderson.
We have good times with Avant and sometimes not so good.
We are all free to come and go with Avant as we see fit.
A lot of people put in a lot of time in developing Avant and into the forum.
I am here to stay.

I will not be leaving Avant Browser (never intended too) but I will be hoping for a good step forward soon. I like a lot of people use more than one browser normally. That hardly qualifies anyone as a 'fair weather friend' frankly.
One thing which is an issue for me personally however, Avant will not work with LastPass password program which is inconvenient to say the least.

How about one of the team giving us all a heads up on V12 and when we may see it?

Hey, trsche! Getting an answer about 12 is pretty difficult, huh?

(I don't have one, either. ;) )

Hello Everybody,

We just released Avant Browser 11.8. It's actually 12.0 without the latest Skins.

We spent a lot of time to improve performance and memory usage in Avant 11.8.

Please try it and let me know how do you think of it.

Thanks,

Anderson

Well i was under the impression my request for bringing back fixed size multi-row'ed tabs (atleast as an option) would return in version 12 but alas I'm not seeing it in the options. I waited years just for this one thing. Leave's me dissapointed because I was going to make a donation just for that cause. I will probably just continue using FireFox with the Tabs Mix Plus addon unless this changes.

Additionally, opening new tabs as a blank page does not focus on the url box. If the url box was focused this would make for quick opening of tabs and pasting of urls outside of needing click the drop down paste and go box.

This is only 11.8 which is being released primarily to address stability issues. Version 12 is still being worked on...

Hrmm, I had read via Andersons post that 11.8 was essentially 12 and someone else said the same thing minus the skins. Didn't know there were other features planned that just aren't in it yet but thanks for clearing that up, I can still keep my fingers crossed.

Avant was essentially rewritten from the ground up. Everything from the backend features to the interface. These features were taking too long so the interface rewrite was put on hold until the backend was stabilized which created 11.8. The frontend now is essentially the same as the one used in 11.7.

Since 11.8 build 1, AB was so full of bugs and misbehaviours it became unusable. I just reverted to 11.7 build 46 SR3. What a HUGE relief!!!

Anyway, I'm taking a look around, too.
In the last 3 years, Avant REALLY lost a lot in stability and reliability. Every new build seems to bring more problems than it solves. I'm sorry to say, since I use it since... I don't even remember the year! ^__^

+1 or +10.

Dont know what to say to Mr. Anderson. He was giving Builds that were rock solid during 10.x times. Since 11.x everything is RIGHT opposite. Every since release Brings **** lots of Bugs and a little Butter to cheer up. I mean, what is he Upto. Is he been Paid by MAXTHON Team to lay down Avant Users. I mean Avant is so personal to me that even a single bug in it causes me to boil.

Man avant was so perfect during 10.x Times that i installed it in every system i worked in off & customer Place. Dont know what happened from 11.x. Every release is a S***. I dont know whether to say good bye or beg Mr. Anderson to release a stable Build.

Hope anderson reads these requests and works on it.

Hoping to see a better light & better stable Strong Avant.

All the best,

Regards
Gururaja

When Avant was first downloaded here, version 11_0 Build 46 was the current version.

I find it to be quite stable. Of course my needs are quite simple. Lets say in a years time maybe one or two times it has frozen.

And then it may have not been the browser's fault.
