I'm sorry to say it,but i really hate the new Avant browser!!

It's lost it's originality and now only looks lika a IE7 replica.

Please change it back to they way it looked before. :x

I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but I just can't believe a person would say something like this. In what way, shape or form does Avant look like an "IE7 replica"? The Avant GUI is nothing like IE7's and the feel, features and functionality are completely different. I'm sorry Duckman but that statement must be pure frustration or stupidity or both. :?

This new 11.5 build 8 version of Avant is simply awesome. I'm rarely using Firefox now and I've made it my default browser. For a Windows platform you won't find anything better, not even Maxthon.

I'm sure that was typed out differently than you intended it. If we disagree or don't see his point (which I don't, either.), let's not call him stupid. ;)

It looks nice for me, but I don't like one thing:

- 'close window' , 'close all windows' and other buttons, are now on the tab strap, it's very hard to get used :(

You've got a whole lot of company there. You might want to add your comments to the thread here: http://forum.avantbrowser.com/viewtopic ... highlight=

Have you tried Maxthon2 ? Maybe you should ... its just as good as AB.

The thing I like best about it is the visual indicators for mouse gesture!

The thing I dislike about it is that online favorites use port 9000 which maynot be opened in many work places!

I would have continued using AB had it not been for the problem of bloced ActiveX which still messes up things and therefore my inability to login to Oracle at my work place!

I wouldn't quite say I hate the new version...but I did notice as soon as I installed it that it seems much more similar to IE 7 than previous versions. It's still MUCH more customizable compared to IE 7 though (which is why I don't use it). Unfortunately due to having problems with Auto-Complete and a few little customization quirks, I've temporarily switched back to 11.0 build 46 until a few more updates have been released Then I'll give the new version another shot.

You know you can change the skins, don't you? Aslo, in my opinion, it looks absolutely nothing like IE in any way, shape, or form.

change skins?? DUH! that doesn't really change anything important, after spending 10 min customizing the new avant i still can't get it to look how i want with the toolbars in the right places. What's with having the tab options locked to the tab bar? i want to move them!
your right, when you look at avant and IE side by side the look alot different but he new avant still gives my the feeling of working in IE

I agree with all those who do not like the new version. After giving it a fair trial I have gone back to the older version 11 Build 25. Why oh why when it "ain't broke" is there the compulsion to "fix" it? :(

Yes, you are right absolutely!!!
The new AVANT is unusable... and I hate him too

Where is the old layout? Can I switch to the old layout?
I think I must look for another browser or I give IE7 a second try...
