Help! Screwed up my favorites bar...

Oops... I made a mistake.

Clicked on a folder in my favorites bar and selected the option to replace the favorites bar with the contents of that folder. Silly, I know, but it happened. Now the favorites bar shows the contents of a a subfolder of my favorites.

Luckily, the favorites folder itself has not changed (which would have been even worse), only the favorites bar.

By all means I cannot find a way to restore the favorites bar to show the contents of my top-level favorites folder. Export/import works correctly on the favorites folder but does not change the favorites bar.

I would be grateful for any idea. Thanks in advance.

Nope, not silly. I prefer my bookmarks bar to be a folder of my choosing. You can right-click any folder in your bookmarks and choose Set as the Root of Bookmarks Bar to do this.

But... to go back to the main "folder," i.e. the folder that has all of your bookmarks, you have to go to the folder you currently have chosen and click the Set as the Root... option again. This "unchecks" it and makes the base bookmarks folder your Bookmarks Bar folder.

Not very intuitive, but it sounds like this is what you're looking for.
