Why Can't I EASILY Restore Avant Layout After Crash?

Every six months or so something crashes Avant... and it sets everything the newly installed default mode... and though I have backups... when I do a restore, apparently it doesn't restore the layout I've created.... and which point I start screaming and pulling my hair out because I spent 30 min and STILL can't find the way to restore the typical Windows options on the top of the page such as FILE, HELP, VIEW.

Which brings up a problem I've had with Avant. Some years back I seem to recall that each tab would be its own process so if one tab crashed... the rest were isolated. But once every two weeks or so a tab will crash and take out all the open tabs turning them into the purple screen (This is with the Firefox browser in the tri-engine version of Avant.).

Problem solved. The compact view option was checked. But that still doesn't answer the question why all my browser options aren't saved so they can easily be restored.
